FILE YOUR OWN PETITION FOR ADOPTION
Laurence H. Spiegel has prepared File Your Own Petition for Adoption kits for persons filing agency adoptions of children born in the United States. These forms are specifically for Oregon Circuit Court.
These forms are intended to give adoptive parents an alternative to paying high attorney fees. By using these forms, adoptive parents are representing themselves in court. These forms are continuously updated as laws and regulations change.
These kits sell for $195 each. This saves you hundreds of dollars in attorney fees.
These forms should NOT be used for:
(a) confidential adoptions in which the adoption agency is not willing to disclose the names of the birthparents,
(b) independent adoptions,
(c) Department of Human Services adoptions, (d) re-adopts of children previously adopted abroad. If you are doing a foreign re-adopt, you may obtain do-it-yourself adoption forms from Robin E. Pope, attorney at law, repope@europa.com.
In order to make the forms easier to use, there are alternate forms for a single person or couples adopting, one or multiple children being adopted, and father consenting/no father consenting to the adoption. When you complete the order form, please be certain to check the appropriate spaces so the correct forms are included in your kit.
